Macintosh users, rejoice! Windoze95 has arrived with all the typical Microsoft pomp and circumstance and few have yet figured out why. (Perhaps they still need more RAM to compute.)
In any case, this archive contains three files: this text document, a res-edit document called win95 startup and a PICT. The res-edit document contains a PICT resource to replace PICT resource number -16506 in the System Update file of System 7.5.1.
How to do it: Make a copy of the System Update file found in your system folder and work on the copy. Open the System Update copy with res edit and open the PICT resources. Double click on -16506. Then open the res edit document from this archive. Double click on the PICT resource and open up -16506. Select copy from the Edit menu and then Paste it into the System Update copy PICT resource -16506. Save everything. Put the original System Update file in a safe place and put the System Update copy which you have modified in the System Folder and restart.
The second file is a JPEG file of the Windoze95 splash screen. The JPEG can be easily converted to a PICT resource and saved as StartupScreen, by using Graphic Converter or Photoshop. Place the newly converted file named StartupScreen (nb: no space between Startup and Screen) in the System folder and restart. That's it.
